OJT – Day 1: SURVIVED!
I’m done with the first 8 hours of my OJT .Wooohh! What an accomplishment! Now there are 232 more working hours left! Haha! I can get used to this formal attire. It made me looked smart and respectable. And we have our own daily time record I will try my very best to wake up early and not be late. So how was my first day in a telephone company?
- We were assigned in the billing system so we were given a manual about billing operations to read and to understand its whole processes.
- The concept is that, we will monitor phone calls that are made in a specific telephone number and in a specific city. From local to domestic calls, long distance and to mobile phones.
- We can track a specific telephone number and know where does this telephone number belong and we can see the telephone calls that he/she has made.
- Our supervisor was very kind. He taught us each step + the commands and tried to explain it in a lay man’s term.
- We are using a computer application that has the attributes of an assembly language so we use command lines in operating each process.
- During sorting, converting and integrating processes, we have to wait 30 minutes or for some 2-3 hours for it to load and be ready for the next process.
- Each operation is needed to be recorded for documentation.
- That’s the whole operation for only one city; this company is the main branch, so how many cities do you think this company handles?
- During those long waiting hours, my partner and I were sleeping alternately + the cold and freezing + boring room makes you yawn and do some stretching exercises! I think by the end of this training our complexion will be fairer and hopefully gain some weight.
- The foods in their canteen are so cheap. More money can go to my savings and maybe I’ll get a chance to attend The Born This Way Ball!!!!!!
Another 8 hours for tomorrow! And maybe we will be the one handling those processes! Good luck to us! Haha!
