OJT Day 7 – Change of Quota
As usual, the office was soooo cold it made me so sleepy + slouchy and too lazy to work but I have to start on something because Joyce is progressing in importing those product rates. So I have convinced myself to be vigorous.
As I was starting to put my hands into the desktop, my phone rang. Who could it be? As I checked it, it was Sheila (I wondered) but when I answered it, there was a male voice who was talking to me. To found out, it was JM! They are my batch mates who already graduated; congratulations to them!! And they are already in Manila, with Dave and David (I think they are living in the same roof) they are looking for a job and I think, from what I’ve heard, some of them have already found one; another congratulations! I am so happy + envious for them! Haha! Anyways, they called to check how I was doing. (That was so sweet of them. Awwww.. n_n). But they jumped in immediately to the root of their call, because the reason why they called me was to ask if I have already decided to attend Lady GaGa’s Born This Way Ball because if I do, they’ll be asking me to stay with them. (Awwww…. You guys are always a blessing!) I thanked them for their offer but I’m still not sure though because I am reaching for that P15, 000 patron area ticket which is not impossible but too ideal. They too also want to see Gaga but they said they are still not getting any salary at of this moment. But they were still trying to convince me to go and why not just buy the General Admission ticket which is very much cheaper. For the whole conversation I was almost talking to them in whisper because we are just in the same room with our supervisor. So we decided to say our goodbyes and looking forward to see each other if ever I will push this thru.
Yeah it got me thinking + made my day very active and eager to work. Hmmmnn… Thinking to get this opportunity to see Gaga with any resources that I am having! #BornThisWayBallManila here I come!!! PAWS UP!!
OJT Day 8 - Whitelisted
“YOU HAVE LIMITED ACCESS DUE TO EXCESSIVE INTERNET USAGE.” These are the words that appeared in our browser whenever we direct ourselves to 9gag, tumblr, facebook, twitter and others! Duration: 7 days!! O_____O Are you kidding me?? This office couldn’t get any more boring –er. Now we have to endure the tedious process of importing the product rates + organizing them without any breaks or whatsoever but sleeping is an option though. Ugghhh?! I asked Joyce why did we let this happen + why we didn’t see this is going to happen! K! There’s nothing we can do about this, we were not briefed, we were not informed and we were not aware. We have to fill in the boring atmosphere in the room and just wait after 7 days to get back again and may have the chance to be BLACKLISTED!!! WHAT THE FVCK?!?!?!?! Joyce, we must learn our lesson. We must learn + try to only use the internet only during break time. Tsk tsk tsk!

OJT Day 6 – Frostbitten
Our office is undeniably cold! And the air conditioner is positioned straight thru our workstation. It was just bearable in the past few days but today was different - the temperature was 20 degrees Celsius, I think it was lower in the past days because I can literally feel the difference. The bloods under my fingernails are unusually dark. And I can’t almost feel my nose. It is so much warmer outside the office, so every now and then I have to go out to recover my body temperature + tomorrow, I will look for another sweater that is thicker than what I have been wearing. Soundtrack for the day: Big Bang’s ALIVE – they were also frostbitten in their promotional posters, because they were so hot, the ice would melt and also my heart. HAHA!

OJT Day 5 – I Need Cash
Our supervisor gave us our duty for the rest of our training. Finally! Instead of us waiting for another set of bills to be printed, another dumped AMA tapes to be loaded and operating the bills, we will be now working + busy in every minute and be productive. It is just a simple task but there are a whole lot of records to work on. Our supervisor needs a copy of the database of their product rates from their system and all we have to do is to import their product rates to Microsoft Excel + we need to group each city based on the products that they are using. Thru long hours of sitting + typing + scanning + focusing on the monitor, in between talks + laugh trips with Joyce is always a way to miss out boredom. From future plans, wild imaginations to personal life, love life and etc; it was a good way to keep us active. I was thinking for another topic, where I opened up my crazy plans of getting an amount of P20, 000 in a span of one month, that it became our whole buzz for that day. What I planned:
What Joyce suggested:
I was laughing the whole time while Joyce was teasing me. But honestly I am serious about this, for as much as possible while I have this chance of seeing my Mother Monster live on stage I will find the most possible ways to earn that money (By also assessing the position that I am going to take of course) *ANY SUGGESTIONS GUYS?!

OJT Day 3 – CONFIRMED!!!!!
We learned how to load AMA tapes today. Also we printed out another set of bills. It was just an ordinary day until, uuhhh let me tell you why:
It was already afternoon and our tasks were divided. Our supervisor assigned me to check the printed bills + prepare them to be delivered while she and Joyce did the operation of the bills from the AMA tapes that were loaded. Joyce already got the advantage over me in operating the bills for this was an opportunity for her to review how it was thoroughly done. Tsk! And after we completed our tasks, Joyce told me that our supervisor was asking things about us while they were operating the bills. Here is their conversation as Joyce explained:
Supervisor: Are you and Jamel good friends?
Joyce: Yes Ma’am.
Supervisor: Are you classmates?
Joyce: Yes Ma’am.
Supervisor: Do you have a boyfriend?
Joyce: Yes Ma’am.
Supervisor: Are you and your boyfriend classmates?
Joyce: No Ma’am.
Supervisor: *nods* Is he not taking the same course as you?
Joyce: No Ma’am, he is a Business Management student.
Supervisor: awww.. So how about Jamel?
Joyce: Naaahh… He is looking for a boyfriend Ma’am.
Supervisor: Ahhhhh! Now my mind is clear! He is not really straight!!
BOOOOOOM!!!!!!! ROFLMFAO!!!!! HAHAHAA!!! Well what can I say, another blinded victim! HAHAHA.. But my supervisor is not the only one. It was already 5PM so our day here is done. Joyce and I were in the canteen deciding whether or not to stay for a while because it was already raining. As Joyce and I were talking, I glanced at my back and saw our supervisor and her friend, where I overheard them:
Supervisor: Uuuyy!! CONFIRMEEEEED!!!!!!!
Friend: I already know!
Supervisor: How come?
Friend: I asked him! Haha.. Just kidding.. You can already predict by looking at him.
Supervisor: Haha! Are you friends?! LOL!! I know right?! LOL!!!
WHAT THAAAAAA?!?!??!!? SERIOUSLY??!!? YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT ME LITERALLY BEHIND MY BACK!??!?! HOOOMYGAASSHH?!?!?!! HAHAHAA! This is just normal for me to be wondered to. But what is not normal is hearing them talking about their thoughts about me. Hmmmnnn… Sorry if I cannot please your thoughts Madame and tomorrow I’ll be as flamboyant as I want to because thanks to Joyce, it was already cleared out. *I doubt.. LOL!
OJT Day 2 –BILLS, BILLS, BILLS
For the whole day this song has been playing inside my head and some moments I was singing it. Let’s see why:
I thought for our second day of training, we will be given a task to handle the operation of the billing process but instead we were taught how to print bills - those were company bills, business bills, residence bills and others ranging from notification for disconnection and the due amount that they will be paying. It will be printed by cycles and places. Imagine how many telephone users in just one place we could print hundreds of papers. After printing, we have to check and see if there are no lacking bills. Then we have to pack it up and label it to be ready for delivery.
What a busy + productive day I think maybe we will be experiencing more on this for a couple of days because it is almost payday.

OJT – Day 1: SURVIVED!
I’m done with the first 8 hours of my OJT .Wooohh! What an accomplishment! Now there are 232 more working hours left! Haha! I can get used to this formal attire. It made me looked smart and respectable. And we have our own daily time record I will try my very best to wake up early and not be late. So how was my first day in a telephone company?
Another 8 hours for tomorrow! And maybe we will be the one handling those processes! Good luck to us! Haha!

Goodbye Pompadour!
I decided to take my pompadour hairstyle to a rest. So I go back to the basics with my one sided bangs. Actually I was planning to get a crew cut but I got scared + doubtful. It is not that I don’t like pompadours anymore, it is just that I got too tired in maintaining it + at the end of the day my hair will dry up and it will become frisky. So I tried to play it safe for tomorrow will be the start of my On-the-Job Training because during the days of this summer, some of us trainees are required to wear corporate or formal attire and I am one of those. I need to look good and be presentable because this is a big company. And someday who knows, if they will like my work ethics + my personality maybe they will absorb me after I graduate if and only if I will be still willing to work with them, we’ll see.
Part 1: Should I be excited?

First thing I did when I woke up was logging in to my Facebook, only to find out that the selling of The Born This Way Ball Tour tickets here in the Philippines is on April 2, 2012. Ticket prices are Php 15000, Php 11000, Php 5000, & Php 2000. Not to mention the fare! And the May 21st rumor + the venue that is still under construction SM Arena are already confirmed. I’m so disappointed + sad + envious because I don’t have that amount of money yet. If only money can grow on trees then I would be more than excited.
Part 2: Procrastinating

Waiting for something interesting to happen, as usual, I was doing well during my procrastination; alternating from my laptop, TV and my bed. I’m such a bad kid!
Part 3: Something interesting happened

I was thinking about our OJT, it’s almost Holy week and still we haven’t got any calls from the companies that we applied until Joyce texted me and delivered the good news! She got a call from PLDT! And guess what!? We will be having our OJT there!!!! + the orientation will be this Monday. We can never be more thankful than this! Thank You Lord!!
Part 4: Missing out the point
So I already decided to return the books which I borrowed from the school library. It was due on March 3. And what date are we now on??? FFUUUU…!!!! Clearly I haven’t returned these books on that day + the fine is 5 per day! Just do the math. Where is the point of saving there?! Even though I sacrificed my allowance to pay for it, still I’m too far in getting that Born This Way Ball ticket!
Part 5: To the rescue
I already returned + paid those expensive books. Then I decided to inquire in the finance office, for our tuition for our OJT. As I was going towards the finance office, I passed by my dearly Philosophy 25 teacher, Dr. Enerio. Going to window 2, the only woman who was standing there suddenly screamed and I heard a bump. Ohhhh.. MY… GoOssshhHh???!!! Dr. Enerio fell on the ramp! I quick ran towards him and helped him getting up. “My shoes are leather,”as he explained. He got some scratches in his right arm + bruises. Then a group of guys came over and grabbing him all over. So I let them have him and they guided Dr. Enerio to the clinic. Was it a right thing to do, leaving Dr. Enerio with those guys? Besides, they already have him + they are enough to walk him through the clinic. Then there was me, the guy who was there getting him up during his fall.
Part 6: Electric Chapel

The tuition for OJT is P 2,103.00 for CS students. So I left the finance office and dropped by the chapel. I prayed for what God has given me today. Everything happens for a reason. Praise the Lord!!
Part 7: Forever alone
I’ve been eager to watch The Hunger Games. It is the most watch movie for this year. And with the entire buzz + a trending topic, it really caught me. So as a treat for myself for having accepted in PLDT, I went to Ket Kai. But the moment I got there, my mood just swing-ed. UgggHhh??!! I don’t feel watching it today. Why is it so crowded today? It is already 4pm and the show just started at 3pm! I want to watch it from the beginning! UugghHh… Then there is Lola who wants me in their store because I’m going with her to her ballroom. Just a big damn! Ugghhh… So instead, I decided to buy my pimple cream in the drug store. This does not count as a treat for myslef! Blaahh!
Part 8: Chaperone
I’m already at my grandparents’ store. It’s Friday night, and you know every Friday, it is ballroom night for these two young at heart Senior Citizens. But my Lola will not be having a partner tonight because Lolo has a meeting in Hotel N. So Lola decided that I will be going with her, not as a partner but as a chaperone. It’s been always like this whenever Lolo is absent, and then I am the solution. Hehe!
Part 9: Revelation + Realization
We just got home and we will wait for Lolo to arrive later. I composed all of these in my cellphone while my Lola is dancing in the ballroom. Haha! I decided to record this very amazing + fruitful day and post it in my tumblr because you can never have an amazing + fruitful day everyday right? My gosh as I was typing, it was two pages long! Hahaha!! Haters gon hate!! XD! Goodnight tumblr! Can we call it a day? XD
Second semester is officially over! Requirements for our final project are done and passed! And I will be now focusing on my OJT. In order to get a job, you must look and apply for a job. In our case, we must apply one company at a time. So the thing is, we will have to wait for that specific company to call/text us and confirm to us that we will be having our OJT with them. Or reject us. It’s been two days since we applied for our first set of companies and we experienced humiliation and rejection (these are worst but some are good enough just by nodding our heads and by telling us: “We will just call you if you’ll be training with us.”). Yeah! We didn’t follow the rule. Not just because we are running out of time but also in the sense of practicality: “You’ll need to attend 20 interviews to get 1 job” and also to my father’s fatherly advice. Let me share this message to you:

Prayers for me and to my friends, and also to all that are applying for OJT or even a job. It is not easy finding a job you have to double your time and effort: walk thru streets then get lost, sweating while keeping your composure, you have to bear the heat of the sun and the dust and the smoke from vehicles or cigarettes. And once you’re in the company’s office present yourself properly, be confident, show your personality and be engaging. But most of all in finding a job just enjoy it and have fun in the littlest means.
